Ahhh yeah, that's right. Thought there might have been another one there that I'd forgotten.
So that's 3 Tactix players that are in the NZ squad. And this is the team that most people think will finish at the bottom. That shows the overall strength of the competition. |

I can't for the life of me work out why the Pulse a team that needs to fix its mid court would importer a shooter . The Tactix have so much raw talent up to the point where I would question if some of the younger players are ready for ANZC Netball . |

Well the Pulse really lacked a 'tall' GS - they had Harrison last year but she's very green and only got on for a couple of quarters. I thought they were doing fine with Griffin/Amaru-Tibble though, but remember Amaru-Tibble is only 180cm.
Pulse's weakness is in WA - but they're not the only team with that problem. |

we have that problem too. Froggy is well named...rather like that 'in a blender" model.
I'm feeling seriously underwhelmed with my team this year. I can't believe the pre-season (or rather complete lack-of!). Wondering if the cost of travel to these events has something to do with them not taking part
My other team for 2010, the Steel, well I think maybe they have gone a shade too far the other way...they've been to every pre-season going, and on top of that, they are travelling to Christchurch this weekend for more games. After both Queenstown and Sydney, I would've thought the one weekend remaining before the first game would be good to let those muscles and niggly injuries rest a bit?
Handy having 2 teams...allows me to have a dollar each way
I will also be keeping a close eye on the Mystics with Jols playing there - I hope she has a good season.
edit - it's actually Dunedin that Steel are travelling to...so not quite such a distance...but still stand by my original thoughts. |

Yeah, don't really think they should be playing trial games again this week after playing in all the other pre-season tournaments.
In the football codes, they finish all the pre-season matches 2 weeks before the start of the competition. They don't play any official trial games at all in the week before the competition starts.
As for the Magic, well, I don't really think much of their pre-season either (or rather their lack of one), but I still have a feeling they'll go well this year. |

Maybe they'll be using benchies mostly and resting the 'top' players? The Vixens are having an 'open session' this Friday which probably won't be too exhaustive.
Re Magic: I'd like them to do well but didn't like what I saw of Brown at GA in the Perry Foundation tournament so will reserve judgement. I think this lower profile buildup will do them favours though. |

| BTW I think the talent laden international team award for this year has transferred from the Magic to Mystics....whether it pays off or not we will have to see!!! |
Will be interesting to see Tuti dealing with Williams. (I guess the kiwi fans have seen that pre ANZC.) Watching a VD/Williams battle would have been better... |
They use to play on each other back in the NBC days. Tuti back then played for Auckland Diamonds(now Mystics!). VD/Williams would be a great battle...............would love to see that! |

Yer I can only imagine Gerrard giving Medhurst a rough up in their first battle
As for Tuti shooting 40+ games.....hmmm is she really going to?????? with Latu sitting back at GS and her out at GA??? |

Pah - I'm not that worried about the Steel playing again this weekend. Robbie's made good use of ALL the players so far in the pre-season and the young ones seem to be thriving with the experience. They seem to be very careful regarding those carrying injuries and I suspect this is going to be the weekend that Robbie checks their fitness and decides her lineups for next weekend (YAYE!!!). Their success in the pre-season has been 50/50, but as everyone says, nothing much can be taken from that, because many of the benchies have had good runs.
MY biggest problem at the moment is that everyone's talking about what a fantastic combo Foo-Foo and Dehn are making. I gave Teflon/Foo-Foo lots of credit (albeit begrudgingly) last year..... I don't know if I can keep it up. |

Possibly not, but here hoping She used to be the go-to for the Diamonds being the only accurate hooter ofr the team. But when she moved to the Magic she became the shadow of Van Dyk. I hope she shines this year aswell. |

Now I'm just imagining her in a tight t shirt and short shorts serving drinks! |

Also makes it sound like she's incredibly good at identifying different smells. |
